Title: LPIRG Offers Media Skills Workshop
Location: TH 173 in Turcotte Hall
Description: The Lethbridge Public Interest Research Group (LPIRG) would like to offer you a free, practical, hands-on  workshop on media skills.
This 2 hour workshop will cover:
• how to write a press release
• effective media relations (give them what they want)
• press interviews (how to get your message out)
The workshop will take place on Thursday, November 19th from 4:30 – 6:30 in TH 173 in Turcotte Hall.  Refreshments will follow.  Space is limited so sign up now!  Completely FREE!
Shannon Phillips will conduct the workshop. She is an experienced journalist, campaign/ event organizer, and activist. She is the former Director of Communications at the Alberta Legislature for the Alberta NDP, has worked as a TV producer for CBC and Al-Jazeera English, is a frequent contributor to Albertaviews magazine, and is currently the Public Affairs Coordinator for Canadian Red Cross and Project Coordinator for Womanspace Lethbridge. Shannon holds a Masters degree in political science from the University of Alberta.
